Christmas Wishes 2023

Wishing you a very happy Christmas and all my best wishes for the new year.

I cannot believe how quickly this year has passed! How can Christmas have arrived so soon? I owe you all a huge apology that my monthly Blogs have fallen by the wayside over the last few months but thank you so much for sticking with me, supporting my Business and just being wonderful friends. It is so lovely that so many of you take the trouble to come and say ‘Hello’ at craft events and shows. Your comments and support of my work is truly appreciated and I love meeting you all xx

This year we are in the middle of what has turned out to be major building works so we will be taking Christmas to my Mum! I’m cooking and all Mum needs to do is provide the oven – I am lucky that our move back to Suffolk has meant we have Family close by.  Being able to pop in and spend time with the people you love is just so precious. I really hope you will all be able to have a special Family time this Christmas too xx

Following on from the creation of my little stars last year, the idea has now developed into a permanent fundraising venture in support of Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford.

As you may remember, a wonderful customer commissioned me to make some little glass stars for her Christmas tree to share with her family to remember their lost loved ones at this time of year.

I felt truly honoured to be asked and even more so, knowing the reason behind the commission. Following this, another lady, a friend of the first, asked me to do the same for her.

These little stars  have now become totally linked to loved ones – I made myself and my family some to hang on our trees in memory of Dad last year and they have been hung up again this year with love and a smile. Wonderful memories and the most lovely, simple token of remembrance at a time which can be so difficult for many families.

I now only make these stars for this reason, have named them Memory Stars and 50% of the purchase price is donated straight to Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford to support the amazing work they do supporting patients and their families needing end of life care from life limiting illnesses.

If you would like to purchase any stars, please do contact me and we can arrange postage or collection. Memory Stars are available all year round, are £8 each and £4 of every sale is donated to Farleigh.

Breaking News…

I’m delighted to share with you that I will be exhibiting again at the RHS Hyde Hall in August 2024. It was my very first time here in 2023 and I thoroughly enjoyed myself being amongst so many other talented artists and makers. The added bonus of being set in beautiful gardens was my idea of heaven! The event is organised by Craft in Focus and brings together crafts people from a huge range of disciplines to exhibit their work amongst the backdrop of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Gardens. Add to this, live music, food and hopefully, sunny weather and you have a wonderful day out – entry to Hyde Hall is free to RHS members. I will be starting work on some new design ideas especially for the Show – Watch this Space!

News From The Studio Hound

Hugo loves Christmas but is definitely now a Senior and will need to take an afternoon snooze during the festivities. There will undoubtedly be a few extra treats coming his way and possibly a new water bowl if he’s lucky 🙂 He’s never been particularly excited by chew toys or a ball but give him a comfy cushion and he’s a happy chap! – what a cutie xx
